Cyclepaths

A perfect Tahoe blend – bikes and coffee.

Bicyclists who travel to Downtown Truckee Thursdays are eligible to receive a coupon for a free 12-ounce Elijah Bleu’s French press coffee when they park their rides at Cyclepaths across the street in downtown Truckee.

Bicyclists who park their bikes (locks are encouraged) in the racks in front of Cyclepaths will receive a coupon to be redeemed at Elijah Bleu’s House of Coffee directly across the street.

Downtown Truckee Thursdays is a 10-week event series that kicks off June 17 and continues though Aug. 19 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. The event features live music, art, children’s activities, a beer garden, a farmers’ market and local vendors.

Located in the thick of Downtown Truckee Thursdays action, both Elijah Bleu’s and Cyclepaths will make sure you have a local experience.  Greg’s been doing it for more than 20 odd years.

Greg started Cyclepaths in Tahoe City across from the Sunnyside Market in 1987. Feeling the urge, he opened a shop in Truckee in 2003 which recently moved to the heart of downtown in 2010. Cyclepaths carries bikes as well as stand up paddle boards. Cyclepaths’ roots are steeped in the sport of cycling. The shop supports Team LUNA Chix Tahoe and also has a racing team with Wild Cherries.  Greg, along with Gary Bell, owner of Sierra Ski and Cycle Works in South Lake Tahoe, were the original founders of the Tahoe Area Mountain Bicycling Association (TAMBA.)

An avid skier, bicyclist and paddleboarder, Greg Forsyth (owner/janitor) and his crew know a lot about the trails, backcountry and lake conditions to maximize your fun.  Be sure to stop by and meet Greg for some fascinating tales of Tahoe bike culture and to get the insider’s scoop on playing in the mountains.
