Over the next week 10% of all dining profits from both locations of the Squeeze In will go toward disaster relief efforts in Haiti. Every transaction from Monday, Jan 25, through Friday, Jan 29, 2010 will be counted toward a donation to the Salvation Army in support of the organization’s Haitian relief efforts.
In addition to the proceeds from dining purchases, Squeeze In owners Gary and Misty Young and Shila and Chad Morris will personally match the dining dollars up to an additional $500 from each couple to double the contribution.
“The Squeeze has fantastic loyal guests who love to help,” Squeeze owner Misty Young said. “This is an opportunity for current Squeeze guests – and maybe those who haven’t dined with us before – to be part of something bigger and to make a difference just by dining out.”
According to the National Restaurant Association, on a typical day in America, more than 130 million individuals will be food service patrons. Additionally, 52 percent of adults said they are likely to make a restaurant choice based on how much a restaurant supports charitable activities and the local community. “Relief organizations say the biggest necessity is cash to purchase much needed life saving and sustaining supplies for the victims and this is one way we can reach people in need now,” Misty Young added.
Dining patrons can also make additional matching contributions by adding a separate check made out to Salvation Army or an extra cash donation to their dining ticket. All contributions will be delivered directly to the Salvation Army in Reno.
Squeeze In serves the “Best Omelettes On The Planet” as well as a wide variety of unique sandwiches, tasty burgers, huge fresh salads, homemade soups and jumbo burritos. The Squeeze is open daily from 7am-2pm. Located in Reno at 5020 Las Brisas Blvd., on McCarran, ½ mile north of MaeAnne and in Truckee, California at 10060 Donner Pass Road, in Historic Downtown Truckee across from the Train Station.
