About The Bear League:

The BEAR League is a completely volunteer, community based, not-for-profit organization in the Lake Tahoe Basin, Truckee and beyond, committed to keeping bears safe and wild in their natural habitat.  Since 1998 under the leadership of Executive Director Ann Bryant and her dedicated board of directors, the Bear League has been helping to protect the bears in the Tahoe Basin and Truckee through public education, working with animal control officers on aversion techniques, responding to problem bears, policy development, and extensive community involvement.

“People Living in Harmony with Bears” is achievable as the public becomes educated as to the true gentle nature of the Black Bear.  To learn more about the Bear League, please visit www.savebears.org.

About Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care:

They’ve been “Giving Mother Nature a Helping Hand” under the leadership of Cheryl and Tom Millham for more than 30 years.  Lake Tahoe Wildlife Care, Inc. (LTWC) is an independent, nonprofit volunteer organization whose function is to raise, rehabilitate and release orphaned and injured wild birds and animals.

LTWC operates under permits issued by California Fish & Game and the United States Department of the Interior & Wildlife Service. No fee is charged for any bird or wild animal brought to the center, nor is any wild animal refused care.

From a handful of people in 1978 with an idea to help wildlife in their area, LTWC has grown to an organization that now provides a service to more than nine counties in California and Nevada surrounding the Lake Tahoe region.

To learn more about LTWC, please visit www.ltwc.org.
