Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe Pet Pantry

Help support local homeless dogs and cats this holiday season by supporting the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe’s Pet Pantry program.

The economy continues to affect dogs, cats and people, forcing some families to give up their beloved pets for financial reasons. HSTT wants to help keep our furry friends in their homes through its Pet Pantry program. “Give what you can, take what you need,” this program collects pet food and distributes it to needy families and their pets in the Truckee-Tahoe area. If you have extra food or want to donate some, collection barrels are available at the following locations: Safeway in Truckee and Kings Beach, Pet Station, and Scraps Dog Bakery in Truckee. Support these businesses and drop an extra can or bag of food in our barrel while you are there.

We will also be handing out dog food at the Humane Society Shelter every Saturday from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. The shelter is located at the old Truckee Corporation Yard, 10720 Riverview Drive, Truckee. If you are in need of pet food, call HSTT at (530) 587-5948, and we will set you up with whatever you need.

This community has been very generous, and we appreciate it.

We live in a special place. A place so beautiful it nurtures the soul and creative spirit. A place so breathtaking it inspires conservation. A mountain culture that masters the fine art of living. Welcome to this place we call home. Welcome to Lake Tahoe. Meet the local artists, individuals, businesses and events that define our unique mountain culture and embody Tahoe's creative and entrepreneurial spirit.
