Howl-oween Canine Carnival and Pet Parade Oct 31

Tahoe Culture skunk costumeHelp the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe by Celebrating Howl-oween at the 2nd Annual Canine Carnival and Pet Parade at The Rock, Sunday, October 31, from 4pm to 6pm.

The evening kicks off with a pet costume parade led by the wicked and glamorous Cruela De Ville.

Pets and their owners will gather at The Rock, on Brockway Road, at 4 p.m. and the parade will begin at 4:15 p.m. Costume contests will follow with prizes for the best pet costume, best pet/owner combo and the best owner costume and more, followed by a mini trick-or-treating with candy and goodies for the kids, great deals on pizza slices from Peluso’s Apizza and $3 microbrews and glasses of wine from FiftyFifty Brewing.

While the event is free, all the proceeds from food and drink specials will benefit the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe.

Both canine and human trick-or-treaters will be offered goodies donated by a variety of pet-friendly local business including Mickey’s Pet Stop, Scraps and goodie bags donated by Tails by The Lake. Any businesses interested in participating can call 530.550.2252 to sign up.

The free event is sponsored by The Rock multi-use center, which is easily accessed off Highway 267 directly adjacent to the Ponderosa Golf Course next to the roundabout and across from Sierra Meadows at 11197 Brockway Road. For more event information, call 530.550.2252.
