In May, local community member Sean Riley suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of a succession of blackouts and falls. Sean is an off-road tour guide for Lake Tahoe Adventures and his wife, Georgette, works for the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority and the TahoeChamber.
A Beach Bash Benefit at Zephyr Cove Resort will take place on Wednesday, August 15th from 5-8PM to help the family with the ongoing care expenses, which are anticipated to be as much as $2,000/day until Sean’s condition improves. Sean has been hospitalized through July, but plans are to bring him home soon. He is doing well, but does have some issues with comprehension and memory as a result of the injury, and has a long road to recovery requiring extensive physical therapy, home supervision and care. Not only is the care incredibly expensive, it is also not subsidized by programs Georgette has been applying for. In addition, Georgette has had to decrease her work hours (and income) to travel to Renown Hospital in Reno since the May incident.
On Wednesday, August 15th from 5-8PM, there will be a Beach Bash Benefit at Zephyr Cove Resort to help the family with the ongoing care expenses, which are anticipated to be as much as $2,000/day until Sean’s condition improves. There will be a beach BBQ dinner with live music and a no-host bar. A silent auction, live auction, and raffle will be held. Funds raised will be used to help pay for Sean’s continued medical and therapeutic care costs. We are requesting a donation from your business to help make the event a success.
Sean and Georgette have both contributed time and resources to organizations such as the National Ski Patrol, the Tahoe Rim Trail, and Bread and Broth, not to mention their contributions to their respective work places. They are valued members of our community and now need our help.
Please consider donating an item or package unique to your organization by completing the Riley_Donation Request Form. Thank you! Pray for Sean and Georgette.
