Is laughter the best medicine?
Studies show that laughter has several health benefits from lowering blood pressure and hence, your chance of having a heart attack or stroke, to increasing intelligence and your ability to process and retain information. Laughter is also a great stress management tool and helps to release endorphins – the body’s natural painkillers. And, it’s fun and exhilarating!
Join Dr. Kim Bateman for a free evening of laughter and insight into the health benefits on December 2nd at the Tahoe Center for Health and Sports Performance (TCHSP) in Truckee.
Kim Bateman, Ph.D, Dean of the Sierra College, Tahoe-Truckee campus is known for her engaging and entertaining teaching style—skills which earned her awards at both Sierra Nevada and Sierra Colleges. Join Kim as she takes an entertaining, multi-media approach to laughing, and leaves you with new thoughts and many smiles.
The interactive talk will discuss:
- The critical purpose of humor
