If you’ve never had a mammogram or have not had one in over a year, Tahoe Forest Health System recommends calling now for an appointment to take advantage of a special offer.
Women scheduling mammograms during the month of October will receive a complimentary one week pass to the Fitness Center at the Tahoe Center for Health and Sports Performance.
October is Breast Health Awareness Month, a national initiative to create awareness of early detection and prevention. Mammograms and monthly self-checks are the most effective methods for detecting breast cancer early. The earlier breast cancer is found, the better the chances treatment will work. A mammogram is a simple, painless procedure performed by certified mammography technologists and interpreted by a board certified radiologist. The Briner Imaging Center at Tahoe Forest Hospital offers state-of-the-art digital mammography. Follow up care is available through local physicians.
Physician referrals are not necessary to schedule a mammogram, and most insurance plans are accepted. To schedule, please call Tahoe Forest Hospital in the month of October at 582-6510 and mention the Breast Health Month offer to receive the Fitness Center pass.
