2nd Annual Truckee Veggie Garden Tour Aug 22 at Community Garden

The 2nd Annual Truckee Veggie Garden Tour will be held on Sunday, August 22nd, starting at 1:00 at the Community Garden in the Truckee River Regional Park.
The Community Garden is immediately behind the children’s playground and is best accessed from the Estates Drive parking lots by the skate board rink. Tickets will go on sale at 1:00 pm, and the gardens will be open until 4:00 pm.
New gardens this year include:
* A vegetable garden and greenhouse, inspired by last year’s tour, in an old Truckee downtown garden.
* An abundant hillside garden started in the mid-60′s.
* A very prolific street-side garden
The Shaw Family Farm will also be on the tour and is well worth a repeat visit to see how the farm has matured in a year. And, since we are Slow Food after all, excellent refreshments will be served at the final garden which will remain open after 4:00 pm so that people can socialize and converse.
Tickets are $5 per person or $10 per family.
