During the months of November and December 2009, Hard Rock Cafe Lake Tahoe raised over $10,000 to help to feed children worldwide. Funds were raised through the sale of IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER charity bracelets, adorned with John Lennon’s self portrait image, which were sold in the Café for a donation of $1 or more, with 100% of the bracelet proceeds going to WHY.

The season kicked off officially with a performance by Serena Ryder on Friday November 6th, 2009 to a packed house. A food drive was held in conjunction with the performance to benefit Christmas Cheer All Year, South Lake Tahoe’s emergency food bank. 100% of ticket sales & silent auction went to World Hunger Year.

On Thursday, December 17th, The Sierra-at-Tahoe Winter Kick-Off Party raised additional funds through silent auction and door proceeds.

To wrap up the season, on Thursday, December 31st, Hard Rock Cafe Lake Tahoe hosted New Year’s Eve with DJ CRAZE. Bracelets were included in the price of each ticket, and partial proceeds benefiting WHY.

Hard Rock International’s 2009 worldwide IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER campaign hopes to raise awareness for child hunger and poverty through the sale of the benefit compilation digital album SERVE4 and IMAGINE THERE’S NO HUNGER limited-edition pins and bracelets. 100% of net proceeds from the campaign will be donated directly to WHY to benefit charities, including the Common Ground Program and Pathfinder Academy both located in Kenya; the Pattanarak Foundation located in Thailand; City of Joy located in India; Yéle Haiti located in Haiti; Hope North located in Uganda; Roots and Shoots located in China; Project Bona Fide located in Nicaragua and Sentebale located in Lesotho.
