Keep Tahoe Clean.
Recycle your used tires at the Eastern Regional Landfill in Truckee on the first and third Saturdays through June.
Did you know….
- All those unused tires lying around your yard can trap water and provide vector breeding grounds (West Nile Virus), as well as provide homes for rodents and other unwanted pests.
- And tires are flammable, and can potentially burn hot enough to create an oil run off which could contaminate soil and ground water.
Take up to 9 waste tires per load to Eastern Regional Landfill (ERL) on Cabin Creek Road.
(It’s illegal to haul more than 9 tires at one time without a special hauling variance.)
Passenger car, SUV and light tires ONLY.
NO heavy equipment, over-sized tires or tires on rims please.
