Recyle your old Tires for FREE until June 2012

Keep Tahoe Clean.

Recycle your used tires at the Eastern Regional Landfill in Truckee on the first and third Saturdays through June.

Did you know….

  • All those unused tires lying around your yard can trap water and provide vector breeding grounds (West Nile Virus), as well as provide homes for rodents and other unwanted pests.
  • And tires are flammable, and can potentially burn hot enough to create an oil run off which could contaminate soil and ground water.

Take up to 9 waste tires per load to Eastern Regional Landfill (ERL) on Cabin Creek Road.
(It’s illegal to haul more than 9 tires at one time without a special hauling variance.)

Passenger car,  SUV and light tires ONLY.
NO heavy equipment, over-sized tires or tires on rims please.

Recycle Your Tires:

1st & 3rd Saturdays

Through end of June

8:00AM – 4:00PM

Eastern Regional Landfill (ERL)
Off of Hwy 89 behind Tahoe City and Truckee
Right on Cabin Creek Road

For more information, please call the Solid Waste and Recycling Division of the Town of Truckee at 582-2909 or email
