Go Big with Taqueria Jalisco

Mexico_coat_of_armsYou may have to search to find it, but it’s well worth it and will make you a regular. Guaranteed.

Taqueria Jalisco is hidden off the beaten path in South Shore, behind Rojos and the Video Library on Harrison Avenue. The entrance is located in the back off the side street.

Owner Manuel Zepeda knows how to run a successful business apparently.  Keep it authentic, simple, affordable, friendly and big.

Try the super burritos (5.50) and tacos (1.25), and the house-made fresh salsas in the salsa bar to go with your free chips.  Beer, wine and sodas are also available, and a nice surprise.

When South Shore is getting gobbled up by the Mexican restaurant chain wars located at the Y, it is nice to see Manuel keeping it real and going strong for more than 20 years.

No credit cards accepted so bring cash and your appetite.
