Tickets are running out for a unique fundraising progressive dinner and local storytellers’ night scheduled for Saturday, April 28 along Ski Run Boulevard. The event will take dinner guests on a historic dinner stroll through Tahoe’s distant and modern past and down Ski Run Boulevard for a different pairing of food, wine and story at each stop.
The event is a collaboration of Lake Tahoe Leadership 2012 and the Lake Tahoe Historical Society to raise funds and other items for the Friends of the El Dorado County Library. Dinner guests will start at Nepheles for a salad course, then to the Blue Angel Café Loft for the entrée and finally shuttle or walk—depending on weather—to the Riva Grill for desert. Additional stops and pairings may be added before the event night.
Unforgettable: South Tahoe Supper Stroll and Storyteller Night is a few cultural notches above a pub crawl, according to the organizers. Although the public library normally hosts children’s storytelling, this event is adults-only and dinner guests should be prepared for possibly bawdy tales and bring their drinking and walking shoes.
Tickets are $65 with proceeds to benefit the Friends of the Library. The first seating will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Nepheles and is expected to wind up at the Riva Grill in time for sunset around 7:45 p.m. A parking shuttle will depart Ski Run Marina 10 minutes before each seating.
