Thin Air Chili Cook Off at Kirkwood Sept 4

If you love chili, the hotter and spicier the better, then head to the mountain.
Kirkwood Mountain that is. The Thin Air Chili Cookoff will take place Saturday, September 4, from noon to 5pm.
To help cool your taste buds and accentuate the chili varietals, there will be local and regional breweries and wineries from throughout Northern California.
Tasting tickets are only $20 and include a commemorative glass as well as a chili tasting and judge’s kit so you can vote for your favorite chili. Prizes will be awarded for the top three contestants.
World famous blues band, Mick Martin & The Blues Rockers will be playing throughout the day, and there will plenty of activities for the kids.

Join the Tahoe Mountain Milers, Sage Brush Stompers, and Kirkwood Volunteer Fire Department for the 30th Annual Kirkwood 5K/10K starting at 9am. Plenty of time before the chili feast.
The event will include a 5K and 10K course for the adults, and a half mile and one mile fun runs for kids. Race day registration is $40. Youth races are $10.
