Tahoe Culture Chili CookoffIf you love chili, the hotter and spicier the better, then head to the mountain.

Kirkwood Mountain that is. The Thin Air Chili Cookoff  will take place Saturday, August 30, 2014, starting at 12:30 PM.

To help cool your taste buds and accentuate the chili varietals, there will be local and regional breweries and wineries from throughout Northern California.

Sponsored by the Kirkwood Community Association, the event benefits the Kirkwood Volunteer Fire Department and includes wine, beer and chili tasting for adults, plus live and fun activities in the Kid’s Zone.  Prizes will be awarded for Best Chili, Crowd Favorite and Best Booth.  Tasting tickets for adults over 21 include a chili tasting kit, wine/beer tasting and  a commemorative glass.  Tasting tickets for kids are $10; entry to the Kid’s Zone is $10.  Pony rides are also available for $5.
