Keeping a nature sketchbook is a great way to deepen awareness, discovery, and memories of our environment while enjoying the outdoors.
Join naturalist, educator and artist John (Jack) Muir Laws, for a sketching in nature workshop on Sunday August 24, from 9:00am-12:00pm at Sorensen’s Resort that will inspire you to head outdoors with sketchbook in hand.
Delight in artistically exploring the natural world with someone who loves to share his talent and love of the Sierra. Learn techniques for botanical close ups, how to do a five minute landscape, and more.
Sketching in the Sierra with John “Jack” Muir Laws, author of Laws Field Guide to the Sierra and the Laws Guide to Drawing Birds (for sale at Sorensen’s Gift Shop). Learn the tricks of drawing in the field and how to use watercolor and pencil to make fast sketches and detailed studies. Learn how to finish a landscape drawing in five minutes and more.
