The 3rd Annual Climbing Festival & Bouldering Competition in Meyers will take place on September 28, 2013.  To make it even more exciting, a high line feature will be added over a 50X50 foot air bag, and the dyno wall will hover over a 30X35 foot air bag.

Celebrate Tahoe’s beauty and athleticism by playing on our Sierra Nevada granite that is the bedrock of Tahoe mountain culture.

Lake Tahoe is known for its cool year round temperature and top quality granite.  Lake Tahoe is also known as the place with an open canvas of developed and undeveloped rock. In fact, Lake Tahoe bouldering has exploded in the last few years with world class boulders around every corner.

To make it even more exciting, a “high line” feature over a 50X50 foot air bag has been added, and the dyno wall will also be over a 30X35 foot air bag. This should add a great atmosphere for visitors and competitors. Some of the best developed climbing in South Lake Tahoe is on the numerous granite boulders scattered throughout the community of Meyers. Around 100 problems will be included in the contest ranging from V0 to V12 and beyond.  The climbing festival starts at 3pm and will be held at the Local Extreme Park FunBags on 2401 Lake Tahoe Blvd. There will be a 25 foot high line, slack line park with 8 lines, climbing wall, dyno wall and more.

Get out and climb, meet other members of the climbing community, and celebrate the outdoor adventure lifestyle.  The festival organizer is Doctor Joshua Welch of Safe Haven Chiropractic in Meyers.

  • Bouldering Competition starts at 8am with sign ups at Meyers located at 3170 US Hwy 50
  • Climbing festival starts at 3:00 pm
  • Slackline Competition starts at 4:00pm
  • Youth speed climbing at 4:30pm

Some of the best developed climbing in South Lake Tahoe is on the numerous granite boulders scattered throughout the community of Meyers. Over 100 climbs will be included in the contest ranging from 5.6 to V10 and beyond. Limited guides will be included in the competition format. Follow local groups to new and exclusive areas, and even climb new problems lead by Doctor Joshua Welch of Safe Haven Chiropractic in Meyers.

The Doctor and other route finders have specifically designed the contest for all ability levels to make this event fun for the beginner or the pro.  Friends, competitors and spectators will cheer on climbers to test their ability on Tahoe’s scenic granite boulders while turning on the crowd to climbing. Prizes will be awarded to top finishers in all divisions and categories.
