The Lake of the Sky Amphitheater summer evening programs at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center take place Friday nights in July and August. Learn about Tahoe bats, yes bats, on Friday, August 26th at 8pm.
You’ll learn about our history and nature including Mark Twain, Tahoe Bats, Beavers of Taylor Creek, Birds of Tahoe and other Wild Things. Your $5 donation supports the Tahoe Heritage Foundation and the Taylor Creek’s Summer Speaker Series.

These programs are sponsored by the U.S. Forest Service and the Tahoe Heritage Foundation. The Tahoe Heritage Foundation is a non-profit organization that works with the Forest Service to conduct interpretive and conservation education programs in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
The Taylor Creek Visitor Center is located approximately three miles north of South Lake Tahoe on Highway 89. For more information, click here.

Located at Taylor Creek on the west end of the historic Tallac site in South Lake Tahoe is the Lake of the Sky Amphitheater 2 miles north of the Y in South Lake Tahoe on Hwy 89. Each summer this quaint outdoor theater hosts educational programs about Tahoe history and the people that shaped it, Tahoe flaura and fauna, and our environment to help give us a sense of place.
Not only are the performances and information worthy, but the setting is superb. Do yourself a favor and be sure to have time to walk through the old growth forest down to Baldwin Beach and through the Tallac Historic Site.
