Children can stay active and engaged this winter break with two-day indoor workshops combining art with indoor sports January 3 and 4, 2013 at the Lake Tahoe Community College.
Taught by local experts and parents like Gina shown here, kids will have the opportunity to experience ﬁne art in a variety of media, including painting, oil pastel, printmaking and mask making. The Indoor Sports Workshop includes instruction and play time in basketball, soccer, volleyball and kickball.
Meet our expert team of facilitators:
Damion Estrada has been working with kids for ﬁve years at LTCC and for the Washoe Tribe. He is an outdoor educator for LTCC and Sierra Nevada College Wilderness Programs, and a teacher and coach for John Muir Charter School. Damion’s ﬁeld of outdoor expertise includes rock climbing, backpacking, backcountry skiing, and paddleboarding.
Gina Stowell has been teaching art to children in the Lake Tahoe area for 13 years. As an Art instructor and LTCC CONNECT facilitator, Gina teaches the basics of ﬁne art while giving students the tools to make their own creative decisions.
Mike Shreve is an avid rock climber, ﬁsherman, and outdoor enthusiast. Mike has been a Youth pastor and Boy Scout leader for the past 10 years. Currently, Mike serves on the pastoral staff at Lake Tahoe Christian Fellowship, is the director of Ultimate Wilderness Adventures in South Lake Tahoe, and is a coach for South Tahoe High School’s Alpine Ski Team.
Seth Martin is the Physical Education Specialist for Lake Tahoe Unified School District. Seth enjoys being active, helping kids ﬁnd the fun in moving in our beautiful surroundings, and coaching others to become better teachers.

Indoor Sports: 9am-12pm, Lunchtime: 12-1pm, Art: 1-4pm
$144 full day / or $80 per individual workshop (please bring lunch)
