The Barton Foundation is hosting its third annual Festival of Trees and Lights December 2-4, 2011 at The Montbleu Casino and Resort. This family-friendly holiday festival will feature over a dozen trees decorated by local designers, non-profits and schools, Santa Claus, a special hands on kids area, a concert, the legendary Barton Auxiliary cheeseballs, and a community stage.
In addition to photos with Santa, the designer trees and non-stop entertainment will be the “Wish Tree”. Determine how much you would like to give, pull off an existing wish or make your own! You can help make the residents in the Skilled Nursing Facility’s holiday brighter by buying them a new lounger, help to purchase a new baby warmer for the Family Birthing Center, help offset the cost of a mammogram for a woman in our community, or just give to what tugs at your heart strings. Minimum gift $5.
The legendary holiday cheeseballs crafted by Barton Auxiliary members to raise funds for various healthcare services in the community will be on sale for $7.50 at this South Lake Tahoe event. For a complete line up, stay tuned here.
The proceeds from the 2010 Festival of Trees and Lights will directly benefit the Barton Community Clinic which provides family practice healthcare services to our community, especially for those patients without health insurance. The Barton Community Clinic usually sees about 1,200 patients a month. Since January 2009 this demand has steadily grown and the Clinic is now seeing upwards of 1,600 patients a month. This stretches the services, staff, and facilities of our clinic.
Proceeds from this year’s Festival of Trees and Lights will help fund an $800,000 expansion of the Barton Community Clinic. The expansion will allow for a larger waiting room, more patient exam rooms, and allow us to better meet the growing needs of our community.
If you would like to learn more about the Festival or find out how you can get involved, please contact the Barton Foundation at 530-543-5612.
