Their mantra is simple. Think local. Be local. Buy local. Give local.
The feel-good summer mainstay, Downtown Truckee Thursdays 2011 will kick off on June 16 and continue through August 19 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
This summer, every week (on Thursday!) downtown Truckee turns into a giant street fair with local bands, vendors, the Foothills Farmers Market, a beer garden, local artists, children’s activities, shopping and restaurant sampling.
Local musicians will rock the Train Depot parking lot next to local artisans and crafts people, and local merchants will be offering discounts and promotions. Partnering with Kidzone Museum, kid-friendly activities abound including a bounce house, arts and crafts and much more.
Free parking, but ride your bike instead.

Every inch of Truckee is involved including Brickelltown, Jibboom Street, Commercial Row, West River and Church Street. Even the historic Jibboom Street Jail is open for tours.
Come see what it’s all about.
Head to Truckee on Thusdays from 5pm to 9pm all summer long.
