The Father’s Day Truckee Ribfest & BBQ takes place on Sunday June 16, 2013 from 12pm – 4pm as a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life of Truckee Tahoe.
Ribs, Rods and Rock-n-Roll is this year’s theme.
Here’s your chance to sample delicious ribs and side dishes prepared by the best chefs in the area—a perfect afternoon outing for hungry dads and their families.
Truckee caterers and restaurants will prepare their own creative variations on ribs along with a specialty side dish at the Tri Counties Bank Plaza located at 12047 Donner Pass Road. The event will feature judging by industry professionals — and one lucky dad — for the best ribs in additional to a People’s Choice award. Adult admission is $12 in advance and $15 on the day of the event. Admission includes entry, plus two food tickets.
There will be entertainment and activities including a beer garden, live music, kids corner, arts and craft concessions and a line up of classic cars. This event is in support of Truckee-Tahoe’s Relay for Life. Relay For Life is a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost and fight back against the disease.
Smokey’s Kitchen, Auburn Barbecue, Taco Station, Loon’s Lemonade, Dorinda’s Chocolates and Susie’s Aprons are sponsors of this year’s Relay For Life of Truckee Tahoe fundraiser.
The Deckhands, whose members include Pete Nevin, Ed Platt, Norman Garand, Randy Humphreys, Robert Bousquet and Ray Poage will rock the RibFest crowd with tunes a la Jimmy Buffet, Tom Petty, the Grateful Dead and the Amazing Rhythm Aces. They have performed live in Truckee and the surrounding area for years and dedicated themselves to supporting Relay For Life Truckee Tahoe-Tahoe. Sheldon Felich & Friends will perform old time rock-n-roll.
