Pink is not just for girls.
The 8th Annual Truckee Pink Party Fundraiser coined “The Best Pre-Halloween Costume Party” in town is hosted by Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation to raise money for local breast cancer patients. Festivities start at 6:00p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2012 at Moody’s Bistro in Old Town Truckee.
Over the years a major highlight of the Truckee Pink Party is the outrageously wild pink costumes guests sport in honor of their support for local breast cancer patients and programs. Costume creativity is judged during the Costume Contest. Prizes are given to the best male and female contestants, assuming judges can tell them apart.
Tickets for the Pink Party cost between $25 and $50 depending on your pink mood. To purchase a ticket in advance, visit www.truckeepinkparty.com.
Each year the Pink Party fundraiser gets bigger, better and ‘pinker’ thanks to the continued support and participation of our community members and local businesses like Moody’s. All the proceeds go directly to Tahoe Forest Cancer Center to benefit local cancer patients.
The Pink Party originated in 2004 when a group of local women was sponsored by LUNA bar to provide rides and clinics to other women in the community. The program required money to be raised for the national organization, Breast Cancer Fund. In 2009, the organization became the Tahoe Pink Foundation whose focus was on keeping funds local. In 2010, Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation was chosen to keep the annual Pink Party as a major fundraiser event for local breast cancer programs. Now, Tahoe Forest Health System Foundation hosts this community event with proceeds benefiting all local breast cancer patients.
