Watch North Lake Tahoe’s wackiest and wildest strut their stuff at the Tahoe City SnowFest! Parade on Saturday, March 6, 2010.
“Tahoe City Through Time” is this year’s parade theme with a cast of local characters hitting the streets from 11:30am to 12:30pm on North Lake Blvd.
The Tahoe City SnowFest! Parade has long been one of the premier events during SnowFest! which is a 10-day winter festival. SnowFest! has events all around North Lake Tahoe and Truckee, including 2 parades, ski races, fireworks, bar parties, poker tournaments, a polar bear swim, dog pull and much more.
The Tahoe City SnowFest! Parade will include all of the crowd-pleasing entries that have made it a favorite. Expect to see the award winning Kiwanis Precision Snow Shovel Drill Team as they perform their well-choreographed routines. Music will abound with bands such as West Shore Properties’ Sam & the Butchers, The Call Aggies Band-Uh!, and The NTHS Jazz Ensemble. The Railroad Regulators will be up to their old antics, shooting guns (blanks of course), and causing mayhem and havoc. The Vulcans have traveled all the way from St. Paul to join us again. And, of course, our very own Miners will be making an appearance. Watch out for the black soot!
Also included in the parade are a wide variety of vehicles including wooden boats, snow cats, fire engines, tractors, and of course everyone’s favorite, the loaders. If all goes well, the oldest loader in Tahoe City will be in the parade along side (or possibly in the bucket of) the newest.
Please note that North Lake Blvd will be closed on parade day from 11:30AM to 12:30PM. A detour will not be available until approximately 12noon. The street will be closed from Safeway to the wye. Parking will also be limited. Please come to town early and enjoy the many events happening in Tahoe City on Saturday, including the pancake breakfast, Pete ‘n Peter’s Post Parade Party, and Stohlgren Bros. Ice Cream Eating contest, among many others.
