Join the Tahoe Institute for Natural Science (TINS) for a Natural History Snowshoe trek on February 28, 2016 from 9 am to 12 pm.
This short and scenic hike will take you through Paige Meadows, encompassing an open meadow, lodgepole pine forests, and scenic vistas. Along the way, Dr. Will Richardson will discuss natural history issues related to winter ecology, namely how various animals and plants cope with the short days, heavy snows, and freezing temperatures associated with winter in Tahoe.
This hike is perfect for the whole family!
A large portion of the walk will focus on the various bird species that call the Page Meadows area home. As such, please bring your best field guide and binoculars.
Please make sure to bring your own snowshoes. Rentals are available at Alpenglow Sports (530) 583-6917. All ages are welcome, but please leave your dogs at home.
