Thinking about leaving the hill to get a little taste of culture? Forget about it.

Now you don’t have to go to Napa, Sonoma, Tuscany or the Loire Valley to enjoy award-winning wine, food and art.

Get your passport ready and head to North Shore for the 29th annual Lake Tahoe Autumn Food & Wine Festival on Sept 5-7, 2014.

As one of the Festival’s most iconic events, the Culinary Competition & Grand Tasting is scheduled for Sunday, Sept. 7. Other Festival highlights – such as the Farm to Tahoe Dinner at Zephyr Lodge, Gourmet Marketplace Vendor Fair, Village Wine and Brew Walk, Blazing Pans Mountain Chef Cook Off, and 16th Annual Charbay Party – continue to invite guests to delight throughout the weekend of fine food and artisan wine, spirits, and beer. Additional events throughout the three-day event include Pedals & Pinots bike tour and tasting, Beer & Artisan Cheese Pairing and Winemaker for a Day seminars, Petra Winery Luncheon, and Take a Hike! guided hike and trailside tasting.

The epicenter is the Village at Northstar with the gourmet marketplace, live music, local art displays, wine tastings, shopping and demonstrations.

I’ll drink to the that – cheers!
