Join the High Fives Foundation on Friday, October 17 for the world premiere of this year’s B.A.S.I.C.S. program service documentary “#KnowYourPark.” This movie premiere will also include two other High Fives original films, “The Giray Dadali Story” and “The Cody Walker Story.” Both Dadali and Walker are High Fives Athletes featured in #KnowYourPark. Their individual athlete films will be shown preceding the feature film to give the audience a better understanding of their background and connection with High Fives.
California 89, an apparel and lifestyle goods shop located in Truckee, CA, will host the films in their backyard viewing area – one of North Tahoe’s most unique cinematic venues. We’re very excited to kick-off winter with the entire Tahoe snow-sports community with this special presentation brought to you by the High Fives Foundation, California 89, and POC.
Admission to the event is donation-based for all attendees. Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the first ever screening of #KnowYourPark at 8 p.m. on the back lawn viewing area of the California 89 store located in historic downtown Truckee, CA.
“#Know Your Park” is a public service announcement, filmed and edited in a documentary format to educate snow sport athletes of all ages about the inherent risks and rewards of skiing and riding within the Terrain Park. Five core values will be presented within the film: Know Your Protection, Know Your Conditions, Know Your Terrain Park Features, Know Your Ability and Know Your Etiquette. These core values are the building blocks that will help to educated athletes and promote smart decision-making.
