Kings Beach Snowfest Parade

The annual Kings Beach Snowfest Parade will take place on Saturday, March 12, 11:30am – 12:30pm along Highway 28 starting at Secline Street and ending at Coon Street. North Tahoe Business Association hosts this fun-filled parade featuring entries from 25 community non-profit organizations, governmental agencies, service groups and local businesses.

There will be an announcing stand in front of the King Building on Highway 28 at the Bear Street Roundabout; announcements will be made in English and Spanish. The parade will take place snow, rain or shine.

Motorists should be aware that Highway 28 in Kings Beach will be closed between Hwy 267 and Fox Street for the parade starting at 11:25am and plan accordingly. Detour routes will be available to get around the parade route. Please follow posted detour signs and traffic management personnel. Motorists are asked to exercise patience and to drive slowly and carefully in the Kings Beach residential neighborhood detour route. Businesses within the road closure will maintain normal operating hours. Highway 28 will re-open no later than 12:30pm.

The Kings Beach Snowfest Parade is sponsored by Tahoe City Rotary Club, North Tahoe Public Utility District, Gary Davis Group, J.R. Krauss, LTD, Jason’s Beachside Grille, Karen’s Playskool, Lanza’s Restaurant, Liberty Utilities, Mourelatos Lakeshore Resort, Plumas Bank, Sierra Sun, Taco Bell and Tahoe Central Market.

Plan to spend the full day in Kings Beach before and after the parade as there are many fun events including the North Tahoe Public Utility District Pancake Breakfast, Dress Up Your Dog Contest, an after parade party at The Grid Bar & Grill, a Mardi Gras Masquerade Party starting at 7pm and more. The Snowfest Queen Raffle Drawing will take place at 7pm at the North Tahoe Event Center.

For more information about the Kings Beach Snowfest Parade, the road closure, detour or to volunteer for the parade, please contact the North Tahoe Business Association at 530-546-9000 or visit www.northtahoebusiness.org.
