Along with Kit and Rob DesLauriers, he was part of the first Americans to ski Mount Everest.
Photographer and mountaineer Jimmy Chin will share his adventure “Skiing Everest” on February 12th as part of the Alpenglow Film Series.
In August of 2006, Jimmy Chin, Kit and Rob DesLauriers headed to Mount Everest to attempt a post-monsoon ski descent of Mount Everest’s South East Ridge. Along with Dave Hahn and a crack team of hand picked Sherpas, they spent over two months acclimatizing and climbing on the flanks of Chomolungma. They summited on October 18th, stepped into their ski bindings and carved turns off the summit.
The team made the first American ski ascent of the peak.
Jimmy will present film and photography from the expedition at this free show.
