He’s one of our local pilots who travels to Mexico to provide free medical care.

And he’s like to share his story. Meet Bob Horvath.

Bob is a 64 year old local entrepreneur/engineer who flies his twin engine private plane into remote villages of Mexico where Los Medicos Voladores (Flying Doctors) provide free medical services to its inhabitants.

Los Medicos Voladores have been providing medical services since 1978. Bob has flown 33 missions since 1994.

Bob carried the Olympic torch through Truckee for the 2000 winter Olympics in honor of 6 Los Medicoes volunteers who perished in a plane crash.
