The 25th annual Foam Fest returns to Squaw Valley Saturday, Aug. 30 from 2-6 p.m. for an afternoon of craft beer tasting, live music and a raffle, with all proceeds benefiting Disabled Sports USA Far West – a nonprofit organization that has led the way in adaptive sports and recreation for people with disabilities.
Beer enthusiasts can meander through an open-air vendor village at the KT Base Bar and sample a diverse array of more than 50 craft beers from popular breweries, including Alaskan Brewing Co., Deschutes Brewery and Tahoe’s very own Tahoe Mountain Brewing Co and FiftyFifty Brewing Co.
While exploring the unique tastes and flavors of some of the country’s best beer, guests can enjoy live musical performances by folk-rock band Miner (performing from 2-3 p.m.) and bluegrass sensation Hot Buttered Rum (performing from 3:30-6 p.m.).
The famous “Hit the Slopes” raffle returns this year with great giveaways including skis, snowboards, season passes to several Tahoe resorts, and a California Gold Pass – good for skiing at 27 California and Nevada resorts for the 2014-15 winter season.
Last year, Foam Fest raised $22,000 for Disabled Sports USA Far West. This year’s goal is to raise $30,000 for the nonprofit.
Beer tasting tickets are $25 in advance and $30 at the door. Price includes unlimited beer sampling. For those who are not participating in beer tasting, a $10 donation is encouraged for entry into the event. Children 12 and under are free.
