A Nachtspektakel (say-knocked-shpeck-tockle) is a traditional European-style ski event that builds community through the sport of ski touring. A cultural norm in Europe, Night Spectaculars are new ways to combine skiing, beer and food that have started to catch on in the U.S. including Tahoe.
Don’t miss the 2nd Annual NACHTSPEKTAKEL will take place on Saturday, February 9th, at Squaw Valley at 3pm sharp. Tickets $50 in advance at Alpenglow Sports/$60 on site. Ticket includes uphill ascent, three-course dinner, and two drinks. There is no better way to spend a Saturday night than skinning, drinking, and meeting like-minded new friends.
Ski tourers of all abilities are invited to relish an ascent to Squaw Valley’s world-renown High Camp, followed by food and drink. This event offers the unique opportunity to tour UPHILL at Squaw, enjoy the company of fellow enthusiasts, and is a great way to celebrate winter!
Alpenglow will be offering free rentals the day of the event. Rentals must be picked up by 1pm, and that can be returned at the end of the evening at the event or the following day to the store.
Come appropriately dressed with complete uphill gear, skis, skins, boots, poles and MOST IMPORTANTLY A HEADLAMP. Bring warm clothes, and perhaps a change of clothes for drinks/dinner. Mardi Gras accessories are encouraged! Beacons, shovels, and probes are not required but recommended.
MEET AT THE TRAM for sign-in at 2:30pm. Event starts at 3pm sharp. Questions please call Alpenglow 530.583.6917.
