Local music trio, Quartet Minus One, has built their sound on a foundation of ’60s jazz, ‘70s funk, and roots reggae.
But on September 10 and 11 from 8:30-11:30 pm they’ll bring down the house at Moody’s Bistro & Lounge with a Michael Jackson tribute concert.
Immediately following a wildly successful tribute to Stevie Wonder in May, the band’s leader, Brian Hess, began scheming the next tribute show. “The idea behind our tributes is to translate the tunes to make them our own rather than just ‘cover’ them exactly like the albums,” explains Hess.
Quartet Minus One is lead by saxophonist/keyboardist Hess, along with Todd Holway on keys, and Steve Saturno on drums. For the Michael Jackson tribute concert they’ll be teaming up with Steve Kershisnik on bass, Jesse Steele on trumpet, Marissa Campbell on vocals, Zeb Early on guitar and vocals and Kevin Drake on baritone sax.
The best way to view the show is by making a dinner reservation for the lounge by calling Moody’s at 530-587-8688. Moody’s is located at 10007 Bridge Street in downtown Truckee.
