Tahoe Arts Project will be holding auditions for the Missoula Children’s Theatre production of The Secret Garden on Tuesday, November 13 from 4:00-6:00 PM at the South Tahoe Middle School Multi -Purpose Room.
Among the roles to be cast are Mary Lennox, Martha Sowerbury, Dickon Sowerbury, Colin Craven, Archibald Craven, Ayah/Bilge Rat/Captain, Mrs. Medlock, Doctor Craven, Ben Weatherstaff, Robin Redbreast, the Bugs that Rock, the Canadian Geese, the Moor Folk, the Fireflies and the Secret Garden. Assistant Directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.
Students in Kindergarten through 12th grade are encouraged to audition. Those auditioning should arrive at 4:00 and plan to stay for the full two hours. Some of the cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions. Auditions are free and if cast there will be a charge of $35 per child to participate in this week-long theater experience. A limited number of scholarships are available. It is very important that your child be available for all rehearsals and performances if selected. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR CHILD TO AUDITION UNLESS THEY HAVE A CLEAR SCHEDULE FOR THE WEEK. Rehearsals will take place throughout the week from 4:00-8:30 (depending on the role) at South Tahoe Middle School Multi-Purpose Room.
The performances will be on Saturday, November 17 at 2:00 and 6:00 at South Tahoe Middle School Multi-Purpose Room. There is no guarantee that everyone who auditions will be cast in the play. PLEASE DISCUSS THIS WITH YOUR CHILD.
