Paint as you like and feel the joy of spontaneous expression. Gina Stowell’s painting workshops are designed to help children develop and discover the excitement of painting, and the instinctual urge to play with color and shapes.
Gina’s Children’s Art Classes take place at Valhalla, Monday through Friday, July 13th-17th and July 20th-24th, 2015 from 10:00 am – 1:00 pm – the cost is $150 per child per session.
Stowell’s painting sessions share art in nature, art history and painting techniques. We will make nature journals, have a scavenger hunt and of course, the students will host the ART SHOW! Students please wear sunscreen and a hat plus bring a lunch and water.
The session runs Monday through Friday (July 13th-17th and July 20th-24th) on the Valhalla Lawn from 10am to 1pm. The cost is $150 per child for the week and includes all materials. To register for this South Lake Tahoe event, please call Gina at 530-318-3639.
About Gina Stowell, Art Teacher:
Gina has been teaching art to children in the Lake Tahoe area for 13 years. In 2004, she incorporated a nonprofit arts organization and implemented the fine arts program in all five elementary schools in our community with the help of 130 parent volunteers.
She has organized and taught fine arts classes for the Valhalla Arts, Music and Theater Festival at the Tallac Historic Site, Lake Tahoe Community College “Kids College”, L.T. Middle School After School Enrichment, and Visions in Education Charter School.
Whether in a Kids College Workshop or in her own back yard, Gina recognizes her young pupils as artists, teaching the basics of fine art while giving them the tools to make their own creative decisions. She works hard to encourage the child’s creative impulses, and to promote free expression.
