“Whether I am painting exciting new abstracts, landscapes with light filtering through the trees, the lake or colorful florals, I try to capture the beauty and serenity of the area in my watercolors”, states Foss.
Wildflower Workshop with Instructor Jan Foss
July 6 and 7, 2012 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In this two-day watercolor workshop, you will focus on the wet-in-wet style. Subjects will include a close up of the beautiful matilija poppy, a loose wildflower bouquet in a vase, and lupines in a landscape with sunlight filtering through the trees. Each day will include a variety of watercolor techniques including negative painting, lost-and-found edges, salt, creating the texture of foliage with a spray bottle, use of a stencil to lift out color and many more. Color, composition and value will also be discussed. There will be lots of demonstrations and individual help. Ask for supply list or supplies can be provided for a small fee.
