Auditions on YouTube are now open.
This 10-day intensive paid residency program will recruit 36 of the most talented young musicians from across the country to work at the LTMF from July 19 – 29, 2010. Selected artists will perform as part of the LTMF Orchestra, and receive world class training from principal players from major U.S. orchestras.
Selected musicians will attend master classes with guest artists drawn from principal players of major U.S. orchestras – 2010 will feature Ariana Ghez, Principal Oboe, Los Angeles Philharmonic and Jerry Grossman, Principal Cello, Metropolitan Opera.
Musicians will live and rehearse at Granlibakken Resort in North Lake Tahoe. The LTMF Orchestra will perform at two main stage events of the LTMF as well as their own programs during their residency. Practical classes on career planning will also be included.
Internet auditions are now open and an orchestra of 36 will be named by April 15, 2010. Music will be sent to members of the orchestra by June 1, 2010. Auditions will be conducted through YouTube videos, and auditions must include an excerpt from a standard concerto and two contrasting orchestral excerpts from the approved list.
