Literary magazine EDGE seeking local talent

Posted on August 12, 2009
Filed Under Lake Tahoe Truckee Writers

The Tahoe Writers Works literary journal, EDGE, is now accepting submissions through October 1 for Volume IV, to be published in 2010.

EDGE features provocative fiction, poetry, essays, and art from local and regional writers and artists.

Artists and writers from around the lake and Truckee are invited to be part of the movement.

The publishers of EDGE appreciate a variety of styles and their tastes are eclectic. They usually aren’t excited about genre pieces (horror, children’s, romance, etc.) unless they’re really unique and strongly written.

To best understand their philosophy, they offer this quote from the late Hunter S. Thompson: “The edge…there is no honest way to explain it because the only people who really know where it is are the ones who have gone over.”

Before submitting, you may want to check out one of the EDGE publications.

Submission Guidelines:

• Submissions accepted through October 1st, 2009.

• Send up to 6 poems or 5,000 words of prose.

• Novel excerpts should be self-contained.

• Sample issues of journal can be purchased for $12.
