His challenge is capturing “quintessential moments”.
He says it keeps him focused.
Meet Court Leve of Truckee.
While Court was introduced to photography in high school he had other artistic expressions to pursue first.
He was deeply involved in ceramics in college and even worked for a blacksmith in Jackson, Wyoming for a few years. After returning to the Bay Area, the mountains were calling him and he headed to Truckee which is now home.
A prolific photographer, today Court is a hot commodity.
Motivated by challenge, Court favors shooting action photography like skiing, BASE jumping and motocross where he excels. Lately he’s had his famous ski shots grace the covers of many of the top ski magazines including the annual Warren Miller SnoWorld magazine. He’s been fortunate enough to work with several of the top names in the ski industry including 2010 Winter Olympian Daron Rahlves from Truckee.
Leve’s work has been published in virtually all of the regional magazines as well as national and international publications including; Warren Miller’s SnoWorld, Powder, Skiing, Freeskier, Skiing in Germany, The Ski Mag in Australia, Parade Magazine, ForbesLife Mountain Time, Spirit Magazine, Southwest Art, Tahoe Quarterly, Grand Sierra Magazine, The Weekly, Sierra Heritage, Nevada Magazine, Massage Magazine, The New York Post, The Tahoe World, Sierra Sun, Truckee Times, Tahoe Traveler, Intense Sport Magazine, Adventure Sport Journal, Moonshine Ink., Coulior, Skydive Magazine and more. To name a few!
In addition to photographing action sports, Court also enjoys shooting intriguing landscapes and dramatic events such as wildfires and the occasional wild animal sighting.
