You don’t want to miss this tour, or these local artists. Just grab a map and follow the blue signs and arrows.
South Lake Tahoe is home to many accomplished artists who are members of the Tahoe Art League (TAL) dedicated to promoting fine art and art education in South Lake Tahoe.
Like Dr. Yasmin A. Sayyed who eloquently states her purpose, as an artist:
My work is about art as an expression of individual and collective consciousness…
and how Spirit courses through me to give voice, colour, movement, and visual interplay to both the expression of, and invitation to join in a sacred dance of life. In states of grace, the images amplify what heals and what harms the struggles and delights of the soul, and give voice to the universal mysteries o f spiritual elegance.
You can find Dr. Yasmin Sayyed and her studio, Iwa Rere Arts, at 922 Kiowa Drive – off North Upper Truckee Rd in Meyers – a small hamlet outside of South Lake Tahoe.
Kit Night is a member of the Oil Painters of America, and paints uplifting oils full of radiant light. She is showing several series at her studio located at 743 Clement Street in South Lake Tahoe.
Bonita Paulis, will feature pastel paintings of wild western landscapes at her quintessential studio in the coolest part of South Lake Tahoe – Bijou Pines at 1081 Craig Avenue. Her rustic cabin is a piece of art, along with Bonita.
Along the TAL studio tour you’ll find fine art by 30 local artists in a variety of art mediums including watercolor, oil, acrylic, pastel, silk painting, photography, and sculpture. Original works of art will be featured, and many artists will have framed and unframed prints and greeting cards available for purchase. Many of the artists will also be demonstrating their techniques.
