Hand of Order sculpture at Ski Run Marina

Yes, that is the Statue of Liberty in the middle of South Lake Tahoe at Ski Run Marina.
Carson City artist, Matthew Welter, has brought his 30-foot “Hand of Order” wooden sculpture, a tribute to Lady Liberty, to South Lake Tahoe to mark our freedom.
Welter created the sculpture with a collapsing base soon after the September 11th terrorist attacks to signify the destruction. The image here is from the first sculpture which was erected and later destroyed at Burning Man in 2009.
Throughout the 2010 summer, Matthew will create another one of his signature liberty -themed sculptures with a chainsaw at Ski Run Marina right next to Lady Liberty.
