Peace Be Still by Yasmin Sayyed“There are notions of right living and wrong living, and then there is the field (the field of endless spiritual possibilities). Meet me in the field.” –Rumi

Soulful and intentional, Yasmin’s paintings will make you reconsider your life. They’ll make you feel life; make you long for life; a life well-lived; a life purpose-filled with dignity, truth and compassion.

Dancing in The Field: An Exhibition of Paintings by Yasmin Sayyed in Praise of African Spirits will show in the LTCC Foyer Gallery January 9 through March 20, 2010. Meet Yasmin at the Open Reception January 14 from 6pm to 8pm.

South Lake Tahoe artist and poet, Yasmin Sayyed will display her abstract paintings in the college’s Foyer Gallery. Born in New York City of Cape Verdean and Caribbean ancestry, much of her professional life has been spent as an educator, researcher and psycho-educational therapist. A lifelong passion of making art in the service of spirituality, peace, and truth-telling nudged Yasmin to take pen to hand, and paint to brush to illumine and record the wondrous, hopeful and sometimes haunting realities of being human.
