donnahughes.jpgThe Lake Tahoe Community College is featuring sculptures, basketry adn photography by Tahoe Art League artists Donna Hughes and Barbie Crawford this spring.

Donna Hughes ongoing creativity just keeps growing.  Her exquisite Pine Needle and Horse Hair baskets perched on agate bases are obviously inspired by her rich Native American ancestry.  Also exhibited in a large glass case is her striking sculpture of an African Antelope.

LTCC Library Show - Crawford 4-16Barbie Crawford finds peace and inspiration while hiking and photographing in the back country of the Sierra, as Tahoe’s own Jim Hildinger did in the past.  It is good to know the tradition is continued and enhanced in Barbie’s accomplished hand and focused eye.  Once you see her work, you’ll want to dust off your backpack and join her on her next trip!
