The Lake Tahoe Outreach Collaborative has launched a survey to find out what the public thinks are the most important things people can do to help protect Lake Tahoe.
The survey results will be used to inform the creation of a new Environmental Stewardship Messaging campaign for the Tahoe region. The survey takes five minutes to complete and can be found online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/TahoeTruckeeStewardship.
Lake Tahoe Community College has started a scholarship in honor of Carl Young, a former instructor who passed away in late May 2013.
The Carl Young Memorial Earth Science Scholarship is being established to honor the meteorology teacher, who died when he and two colleagues were chasing tornadoes just outside Oklahoma City.
This new Earth Science scholarship will be the first of its kind at LTCC according to geology and earth science instructor Scott Valentine, who worked with Mr. Young’s parents to establish the scholarship. read more →

The third annual Tahoe City’s Farm to Table Dinner will take place on Tuesday, July 9, 2013. Championed by Douglas Dale, this year’s event will feature the freshest, locally and sustainably grown foods prepared lakeside at Commons Beach.
Chefs Lee Kresy of D’Lish Catering, Jonny Roscher of Za’s, Scott Yorkey of Jakes and Allison Sayles of Sugar Pine Cakery also lend their talents to the evening, which has become one of Tahoe City’s signature summer events. read more →
