Public Input Sought on Top Stewardship Messages for Protecting Lake Tahoe

Welcome to My Home Gary BellThe Lake Tahoe Outreach Collaborative has launched a survey to find out what the public thinks are the most important things people can do to help protect Lake Tahoe.

The survey results will be used to inform the creation of a new Environmental Stewardship Messaging campaign for the Tahoe region. The survey takes five minutes to complete and can be found online at

LTCC Earth Science Scholarship Honors Former Instructor Carl Young

Carl Young of Lake TahoeLake Tahoe Community College has started a scholarship in honor of Carl Young, a former instructor who passed away in late May 2013.

The Carl Young Memorial Earth Science Scholarship is being established to honor the meteorology teacher, who died when he and two colleagues were chasing tornadoes just outside Oklahoma City.

This new Earth Science scholarship will be the first of its kind at LTCC according to geology and earth science instructor Scott Valentine, who worked with Mr. Young’s parents to establish the scholarship. read more →
